To Give Or Not To Give, The Christian Question

John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

God expects you to start planting seed above the “rent” if you want to receive a harvest. Often Christians resemble “squatters” by the way they treat the Lord. They refuse to pay “rent” for all of His blessings, then wonder why they have problems.

The tithe or “rent” is not to be used to meet your personal obligations. Your offerings are not “seed” if you expect personal recognition or gain, they must become useless or dead, releasing all personal claim to the giver.

Some have stopped giving because they have felt that the Pastor or Church Board was acting irresponsibly. This can be changed by prayer, but is not an excuse for you to stop obeying the Lord in your giving. When you freely give to God, He freely blesses you.
